David Webb Leopard Brooch
Since 1948, David Webb has carried forward a rich tradition of design, craftsmanship and creativity as an ICONIC American jewelry house.
David Webb’s first time out with this design coincided with his Coty Award in 1964. Over the years the most obvious variation was the eyes, which have been either cabochon emeralds or rubies. Other versions have included the body itself of gold and black enamel, the pave diamond or all gold collar, and gold beads detailing on the spots. The most subtle of all, the amount of enamel work on the tail. Design specs aside, this Webb leopard is simply the most fetching cat around, though it resists being “cute” or anthropomorphized.
